Dr. Andy Waskie of Temple University will return as General Meade to present a lecture for us--"General Meade and the Civil War." "General Meade's" annual visit to Barnegat Lighthouse has become a tradition and is very popular with our members and the public.
SATURDAY, JANUARY 14, 2017 AT 1 PM:
Our Marine Mammals
The Marine Mammal Stranding Center will have us discover what makes a marine mammal different from a fish, which types of marine mammals and sea turtles come to New Jersey and the dangers they face while they are here. Learn how and why the Marine Mammal Stranding Center helps our marine friends. We might even be able to look for some of our mammalian friends around the lighthouse (weather permitting).
SATURDAY, JANUARY 28, 2017AT 1 PM: PRESENTER: Peter Bacinski, NJ Audobon and volunteer field naturalist for over 20 years.
Topic: Colonial nesting for herons, egrets, terns, and gulls along with photographs. Peter will present their way of life in New Jersey.

Trish is a popular speaker throughout the Jersey Shore and has given workshops to educators at the Tuckerton Seaport for many years.

Topic: The Saga of the U.S.S. Indianapolis: A story of tragedy, heroism, deception, and redemption
Jon Fiorella is an educator with 43 years of experience at both the high school and college levels. In retirement, Jon researches topics in science and history and enjoys presenting to the public. Jon has presented the topic of this lecture in New York, New Jersey, and Florida, including at the West Point Museum and the New Jersey Maritime Museum.
