Speaker Bio: Jon Fiorella lives in Carmel, NY, which is in the Hudson Valley. He also has had a vacation house in Barnegat for almost 25 years. Jon taught science for 43 years at both high school and college levels and along the way has garnered five national awards related to his teaching. He has made more than 60 presentations over the past 10 years on science topics ranging from Bioethics to Aeroallergen Research and history topics that cover the Civil War and World War II. In retirement he continues to research topics in both science and history and enjoys presenting them to interested audiences. Recently, Jon presented at the New Jersey Maritime Museum, the West Point Museum, the Lincoln Depot Museum and Barnegat Lighthouse State Park.

As an aside, it should be noted that Jon does professional artwork for various charitable organizations. He goes out on his kayak and collects driftwood and then paints nautical scenes on them. These, along with his wood burnings, are sold with all the proceeds going to nonprofit organizations.
